Why Join the Smithtown School of Business?

Smithtown School of Business is a vibrant and welcoming learning community, committed to creating the best possible educational experience for every child. We aim to enable all children to reach their full potential.

We have a talented, dedicated, caring team of staff, each of whom works very hard to ensure that the abilities of the children in our care are nurtured and carefully developed. Our teachers are experienced, and work as a team to make the department a very special place, every day, for your child.

At Smithtown we aim to provide a broad, well balanced and relevant curriculum. We encourage positive social behavior, emphasizing respect for others. We believe that every child has the right to work in a calm, orderly, safe and secure environment. We value every child and have the highest possible expectations in the areas of achievement and behavior.  We offer the students the opportunity to earn 45 College Credit Courses in our department.  Smithtown School of Business provides a stimulating and enriched environment so that the children can enjoy all aspects of their learning.

Our department offers many opportunities for the students to gain “real world experiences.”   Students have the opportunity to participate in career exploration internships with prestigious companies, such as Citibank, Suffolk County National Bank and St. Catherine’s Hospital to gain practical experience.  In addition, our work experience program gives students the opportunities to intern, work and shadow in fields they be interested in majoring in.  There are many opportunities for students to interact with business people at our Industry Advisory Board and guest speakers in the classroom.  Students can also participate in running a virtual business and setting up trade show booths as part of our Virtual Enterprise course.  We provide a well-rounded education to all students.

Students are also encouraged to get involved in co-curricular activities within the department through DECA and the School of Business.  DECA is a nationally recognized organization that provides the students with the opportunity to compete regionally, state-wide and internationally using all the skills they learned in their classes.
